The Team

A. Paul Weissenstein, Jr., attended Georgia Tech on an Army ROTC Scholarship and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA degree, cum laude in December, 1974. He then attended the USC School of Law and received his JD in December, 1977. He has been admitted to practice law in South Carolina State Courts since May 16, 1978. He is also admitted to practice in US District Court for the District of South Carolina, the US Bankruptcy Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and US Tax Court. He is a member of the Sumter County Bar, the South Carolina Bar, and the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, and is a former member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and of the American Bar Association. He authored articles for South Carolina Jurisprudence (a state legal encyclopedia), on "Improvements" and "Lis Pendens," and has authored materials and lectured at a recent bankruptcy seminar for other attorneys.

Mr. Weissenstein was born and raised in Walterboro, SC and has been married to Gayle since 1976. He and his wife have a daughter and a son.

Donna is a Sumter native and brings more than 25 years of residential and commercial real estate closing experience to Weissenstein Law Firm. She schedules closings for clients, real estate agents, mortgage lenders and brokers and assists in the preparation of documentation for closings.

Alysha joined Weissenstein Law Firm in 2010 as the bankruptcy assistant, left for Korea where her husband was deployed in the Air Force, and has now returned to our firm. She had worked for six years assisting with bankruptcy matters in another law office before coming to Sumter. She has experience assisting clients with bankruptcy matters and has a good knowledge of bankruptcy.

Myra has lived in Sumter for 19 years and has been with Weissenstein Law Firm since 2006. She handles the accounting and most of the firm's administrative matters, but also works with clients on various issues. In addition, she assists with some of the foreclosure matters that the firm handles.

Vic is a Sumter native and been with Weissenstein Law Firm since 2005, examining title to property for our real estate practice. He also assists with the filing of documents in various courts and other offices in Sumter.

Judy moved to Sumter in 1986 with her Air Force husband. She is the first point of contact with our clientele. She has over 25 years of experience with personal injury issues and assists with litigation, estate planning and administration, and social security. She also provides administrative assistance with bankruptcy and other various matters.

Jared is the newest member of our staff, working part time while he is in college. He assists with administrative duties.
